----Upon hearing the first few notes of her song, the thought occurs, “She’s so talented!” A few more measures, and the sentiment changes…, “She has quite a gift!”  Listen a little more.  Allow her voice and her music to soak into your heart, and it’s obvious… what she has goes beyond talent, beyond a gift… it’s a treasure.----

Just two years old.  The tiny girl takes the stage with her preacher-father, her mother, two sisters and a brother and sings, leading a congregation in worship.   A loving Heavenly Father soaks in the songs of praise and smiles, knowing He has a sweet plan, and knowing just how it will unfold…

Years pass, filled with all sorts of opportunities for the little girl to stretch her musical wings.  Before long, she is a teenager, and her Heavenly Father’s plan is revealing a bit more of itself.  The girl sings and plays piano in countless recitals.  While her friends are obtaining their drivers’ permits, she is directing her first children’s musical.   She sings and dances in performances at a local theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  She is chosen to join the Susquehanna Chorale, an elite chamber choir in the Harrisburg-Hershey area.  Her Heavenly Father watches, knowingly, and smiles…

The plan unfolds just a bit more as the girl makes her way into womanhood and heads to Messiah College, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance.  There, she delights (sometimes awakens!) roommates as perfect renditions of “Amazing Grace” echo through the yellow-tiled bathroom first thing in the morning.  Not only does she land the Bachelor of Arts, but she has leading roles in various musicals at the college, travels abroad to sing with touring music groups, continues to shine in vocal competitions in Lancaster and Harrisburg, graduates with honors in Voice Performance, AND becomes the wife of an adoring husband in the midst of it all.  She’s grown musically, been strengthened spiritually and emotionally.  She’s ready for the next part of His plan.

That next part?  Well, it has unfolded beautifully over the years, and there is still more of the plan to be discovered.  The tiny girl is now Andrea Brubaker, Minister of Worship at Mellinger Mennonite Church… wife of Bob, mother of Nicholas, Mackenzie, and Hunter… beloved daughter, sister, and friend… and most recently, recording artist.

Spend some time with her, and you will learn that, at any moment in time, Andrea may break into song.  Hear her break into song just once, and you’ll find yourself hoping she will again!  There is such a pureness… not only in her captivating voice, but in her spirit… a spirit of worship… worship of her Creator and Heavenly Father.  Andrea holds that, “There is no greater honor than to lead a group of worshippers before the throne of the Almighty God.”

Regarding her CD, Andrea says, “Writing music is not one of my gifts.  That is why this CD is such a blessing.  It was during a three-month sabbatical from my job that I began to write both lyrics and music in what I can only describe as ‘God inspired, holy moments.’  So, as not to ever forget the gift the Holy Spirit laid upon my life, I (along with Emmaus Road, the four-person band of which I am a member) recorded this album.  To me, the songs are a testimony of the awesome God for Whom I sing.”

May our Heavenly Father soak in the worship poured out in these songs and smile, just as He did while watching the two-year-old, knowing the treasure He’s given continues to be used to point back to Him.  It’s a sweet, beautiful plan, isn’t it?
